Rotary Day of Service hosting auto, cycle cruises this weekend

The second annual Greencastle Rotary Day of Service is set for Saturday and Sunday, Sept.10-11.

Rotary will host an automobile cruise-in Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. with a motorcycle cruise-in on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. in conjunction with Putnam County Airport Appreciation Days.

Dash plaques will be given to airplanes, autos and motorcycles that come in on both days.

The Rotary Club will be selling ice cream and T-shirts for support of End Polio Now Campaign.

As well as the cruise-in, another event Saturday and Sunday will include Young Eagle Rally Airplane Rides for children ages 8-17. United Way and its 15 partner agencies will host the midway section with games for children of all ages, including a bounce house, People Pathways Back Road Bike Tour, National Guard rock climbing wall, chainsaw carver, Dixie Chopper demo course and much more.

Breakfast and lunch will be available on Saturday and Sunday in the hangar.

The Dixie Chopper 20th Century Radio Show will be the highlight of the evening on Saturday. Tickets for the show and dinner are $20 each. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m.
