Homecoming at Cloverdale High School next week

CLOVERDALE -- Sept. 12-16 is Cloverdale High School Homecoming Week with the theme "Cast Away the Cadets!"

The Student Council wants members of the community to know they are welcome to attend the parade on Wednesday, Sept. 14, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The parade route will start at the high school parking lot and go north on Lafayette Street, then west on Robert Weist Avenue, then south on U.S. 231, before taking Logan Street back to the football parking lot.

The parade will be followed by the crowning of the homecoming king at 6:15 p.m. and the powder puff game (senior girls vs. junior girls) at 6:30.

Any community clubs, organizations or businesses wanting to put a float or walking unit in the parade may contact Bonnie Helterbrand at 795-4203.

Dress-up themes at the high school for the week of Sept. 12-16 are: Monday, Scrub Day; Tuesday, Star Wars Day; Wednesday, Backward Day; Thursday, Cowboy Day; and Friday, Green and White or Class T-shirt Day.

Crowning of the 2011 CHS homecoming queen will be conducted at halftime of the Cloverdale-Cascade football game on Friday night. The game begins at 7 p.m.
