Tiger Cubs win over Golden Arrows

SULLIVAN -- The Greencastle boys' soccer team defeated Sullivan 4-1 Saturday, moving to 10-3 on the season.

The Tiger Cubs scored their first goal when Jon Good delievered a free kick to a charging Brandon Query, who blasted the shot past Reed Jackson with 4:22 remaining in the first half. GHS scored with :13 remaining when Sonney Basham headed in a corner kick from Evan Smith to put Greencastle up 2-0 at the break.

Extending the Tiger Cub lead in the second half was Smith scoring off a Query pass. With Greencastle up 3-0, Sullivan got on the board with 14:24 remaining when the Golden Arrows' Cody Harrison scored on a penalty shot.

Greencastle tacked on its final score of the night when Basham scored on rebound off a shot from Query. Basham had two goals on the night, moving his state-leading total to 34. Smith sits at 19 assists on the season, good enough for second in the state, while Query's 14 assists has him tied for third.

GHS will host Edgewood at 5:30 p.m.
