American Red Cross seeks Putnam County volunteers

Saturday, September 24, 2011

The American Red Cross is inviting Putnam County residents to a meet-and-greet session from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Putnam County Public Library in Greencastle.

Residents are invited to come and learn about volunteer opportunities and how to be better prepared before disasters strike.

The session will be hosted by Putnam County resident and Red Cross volunteer Lisa Clark, along with and Stephanie Land, Red Cross emergency services director.

"This is an opportunity for people to learn about the work of the Red Cross, learn how to be better prepared and consider investing a little time to help Putnam County families after their homes have been lost to fire, floods, winds or other disasters," Clark said. "I feel so fulfilled as a Red Cross volunteer and I want to share this with others in our community."

For more information, person may contact Stephanie Land at 812-232-3393 ext. 12 or sland@wabashvalleyredcross.org.
