Richard G. 'Bud' Gray

Richard G. "Bud" Gray, age 73, of Greencastle, lost his battle with cancer on Sept. 30, 2011.

He was born Aug. 27, 1938 in Brown County, Ind., to Louis and Mable (Hines) Gray.

He was a graduate of Reelsville High School, Class of 1956.

On July 20, 1957 he married Donna (Miller) Gray, and she survives.

He was a maintenance supervisor for the Cloverdale and South Putnam schools.

He had previously owned and operated The Skate Place in Greencastle and the B&D Diner in Reelsville.

He is survived by three children, Ginger Gubser and husband Mark, Dan Gray and wife Becky and Andy Gray and wife Anne; a brother, Robert "Bob" Gray and wife Carol; a sister, Nellie Fox; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, infant Sylvia Gray and Delphia Oliver; and three brothers, Sam, Jack and Alfred Gray.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery with interment to follow.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.
