Roland Naylor, 84, of Greencastle passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at Hickory Creek Sunset Nursing Home in Greencastle.

Born March 20, 1927 in Escanaba, Mich., the son of John and Elizabeth Cadieux.

Mr. Naylor served in the Navy during the Korean War. On Feb. 3, 1949 he married Audrey (Salisbury) Naylor and she survives.

He was a supervisor at the physical plant at DePauw University, retiring in 1988 after 23 years of service. He also worked at the Phoenix Orient Chinese Restaurant in Greencastle. He was a member of the Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church. He loved sailing and kayaking.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jean Sidelinker and husband William of Burton, Mich., Jane Cadieux of New Berry, Mich.; one son, Jerry Naylor and wife Alberta of Greencastle; brother-in-law, George Salisbury and wife Ann; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ray, Burl and Robert (Bob) Naylor and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. P.T. Wilson officiating.

Friends may call from noon until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
