Greencastle Youth Basketball registrations being accepted

Registrations are being accepted for the 14th year of the Greencastle Youth Basketball Program organized by the Greencastle Youth Basketball Board and Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department

Designed for children of diverse skill levels, this instructional program will provide direction on how to play and improve the basic fundamental skills of basketball, while promoting four primary objectives; 1) Instructing the proper fundamentals, 2) Promoting the value of teamwork, 3) Displaying good sportsmanship and fair play, all while 4) Having fun at practices and games.

This program is open to youth in the Greencastle schools and will include team practices, skill reviews, and a game schedule. Greencastle Youth Basketball is open to youth in grades 1-6 and will hold practices once a week beginning at the end of November and Saturday games beginning in January.

"My First Shot!" Basketball is open to youth in Kindergarten and will be a Saturday-only program beginning Saturday, Jan. 7. Equal playing time will be promoted in both levels.

Registration fees are $35 for "My First Shot!" Basketball and $50 for the Greencastle Youth Basketball Program. Registration forms are available at the Putnam County Museum, Putnam County Library, Bright Futures, Greencastle Pediatric Dentistry, and at Greencastle City Hall.

Registration forms should be completed and dropped off at Greencastle City Hall by Friday, Oct. 28. Register by the date and receive a chance to win an Indiana Pacers basketball signed by Darren Collison, Paul George and Ray Hibbert.
