Tents in the wind

Several tents at the Covered Bridges of Putnam County Festival along U.S. 36 in Bainbridge were damaged due to high winds and rain late Wednesday night. The festival will continue through Sunday despite the setback. The tents were originally purchased through donations and the festival itself is a fundraiser for Friends of the Park children's programs. Therefore, no festival money will be used to replace the tents. Instead, a fundraiser will be conducted after the first of the year to raise money to replace the tents for next year's festival. Additional vendors are due at the Bainbridge site for the weekend, organizers said.
