Neal Tire hosts food drive through October

Monday, October 24, 2011

Neal Tire of Greencastle will be hosting a food drive through the month of October. All food will be donated to help stock the shelves of local food pantries. Any person who brings in two or more non-perishable food items can receive a $14 oil change.

Donations will be accepted through October 31 during normal business hours. For food safety, rusty or unlabeled cans, perishable items, noncommercial canned or packaged items will not be accepted. Acceptable items include canned meats, fruits and vegetables. As well as peanut butter, canned and boxed meals, canned or dried beans, pasta, rice and cereal.

"When the job market is strained, more people need help from week to week to feed their families. Many of our communities are having a tuff time keeping the shelves stocked at food pantries and we're doing what we can to help," said Director of Marketing Scott Carlon. "This effort is about helping to sustain the health and welfare of local communities."
