Sports Night returns on Friday night at DePauw

Monday, October 31, 2011

The monthly Sports Night program for local youth will resume Friday, Nov. 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the DePauw University Physical Education and Recreation Lilly Center.

Beginning its 20th season this fall, Sports Night provides the youth of Putnam County an opportunity to participate in sports-related activities while building relationships with DePauw students.

The DePauw Community Service program aims to enhance the lives of children by offering a fun environment for learning the skills and value of being a team player.

Sports Night is a free program open to all Putnam County students in grades 1-5. It is offered once a month when DePauw classes are in session.

Sports Nights for the remainder of the 2011-12 school year are scheduled for Dec. 2, Feb. 10, March 9, April 6 and May 4.

Each participant must have a registration form on file in order to take part. Forms are available at www.depauw.edu/univ/opportunities/sportsnight.asp or at the event. Children must be signed in and out at each Sports Night.
