Scout project a real picnic

Wednesday, November 23, 2011
Chauncey Baker (right) of Boy Scout Troop 93, Cloverdale, presents Putnam County Fair Board President Al Harwood with one of the picnic tables that were constructed as part of Baker's recently completed Eagle Scout project. Baker led an effort to build 15 picnic tables for use at the fairgrounds. His project included gathering funds from local groups and businesses as well a two-day build that involved more than 20 people working 190 manhours. Harwood said the tables would provide needed seating for the fairgrounds for years to come. Baker offered thanks to the following businesses, organizations and individuals for making the project a success: Putnam County Foundation, Lions clubs of Greencastle and Cloverdale, Rockwell Foundation, First National Bank of Cloverdale, Cataract Grocery Store, Mid State Automation, Area Key Realty Associates of Spencer, Cloverdale Building Supply, Taylor Graphics, Todd and Katrina Lewis, Rob and Malinda Mann Family and Norv Gottula.
