Charlotte Estes

Charlotte Estes, 72, Crawfordsville, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 at Williamsburg Health Care in Crawfordsville.

Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of the late F. Herschel and N. Louise (VanVactor) Skinner.

She married Wallace Estes on March 11, 1962 and he survives.

She retired from the DePauw University accounting department in 2003. She had also worked several years for both the Putnam County Auditor's Office and IBM Corporation.

She was a 1957 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Carol (Chris) Cochran of Martinsville; a son, Scott (Tammy) Estes of Covington; two granddaughters, Erica and Andrea Estes; four sisters, Katherine (Frank) Scott of Bloomington, Janet (Charles) Cox of Crawfordsville, Ruth Ann Hammond of Indianapolis and Pamela Billingsley of Greencastle; a brother-in-law, Edwin (Gail) Estes of Gallatin, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by nephew Brian Hammond and niece Nancy Valenkamph.

A private service was held on Monday with burial at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Hunt and Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, handled the arrangements.
