DONALDSON -- Greencastle senior Brandon Query has signed with the Ancilla College men's soccer team for the 2012 season.

The midfielder is the first official signing of the year for Ancilla head coach James Drzewiecki.

"Brandon is a great player to start our class off with," said Drzewiecki. "He's floated under the radar a bit but the kid can flat out play. We've really been taken with his work rate, vision, and technical ability. He's our kind of player and he's a great fit for our system."

Query finished third in the state and 19th in the nation with 21 assists on the season to go with 18 goals, helping Greencastle lift its first regional championship in program history. He scored the only goal in the regional championship, lifting the Tiger Cubs to a 1-0 victory over Covenant Christian.

During his career at Greencastle, Query helped lead Coach Dave Lilly's Tiger Cubs to three sectional titles in four years -- the only sectional titles in program history. He was a two-time all-conference selection and an All-Wabash Valley selection, served as team captain, and was presented with the "Heart of the Team" award by Greencastle Athletic Director and Assistant Principal Russ Hesler.

His 39 career assists is good for 23rd all-time in the state record books. He also contributed 40 goals during that span.

Query has been highly active on the club scene during his prep career. He served as captain for Fusion 94 Orange in the ISL Premier Division before switching to Bloomington Cutters Red in the MRL First Division. He also spent time in the Super Y League with Fort Wayne Fever.

Query is currently playing for IPSC 94 Black under head coach Carlos Zavaleta.

Ancilla College is a Catholic, two-year, co-educational, liberal arts college in Donaldson, Indiana sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.
