Letter to the Editor

Other options should be explored for Reelsville

To the Editor:

This letter is in response to the closing of the Reelsville Elementary School on the front page of the Banner Graphic, Dec. 21, 2011.

I have two more cost cutting/saving measures that need some consideration.

1. Close the Administration Building and have them work out of an office in one of the three remaining South Putnam Schools. (Imagine the utility savings!)

2. The South Putnam School Corporation Administrators will be losing one-fourth of the schools they manage so it only makes sense that they should take a one-fourth pay cut. (Imagine the salary savings!)

Who wants to bet that the administration will be able to justify pay raises for themselves for their hard work on this outstanding saving plan.

Just a side note: we live 3 miles from Reelsville Elementary and the morning bus ride is 50 minutes, give or take a few. How long will the new 13 mile commute take?
