Cougars fall to Mustangs

The North Putnam girls' basketball team lost to Fountain Central 45-34 Thursday on the road.

Leading the way for the Cougars was LeeAnn Davis with 10 points, followed by Kensy Asbell with eight and Sam Lucas with seven. Cayla Kientz scored four, with Bethany Wiatt adding three and Madi Asbell scoring two.

Head coach Jim Brothers said his team got into foul trouble in the second quarter, which allowed Fountain Central to go on an 11-0 run. He also noted Fountain Central snagged 15 offensive rebounds in the first half.

North Putnam will be back in action Saturday when it hosts Eminence in a varsity only contest at 2:30 p.m.
