Hutcheson scores 28 in GHS win

SPEEDWAY -- Behind a 38 point, 17 rebound performance by Nick Hutcheson, the Greencastle boys' basketball team improved to 7-1 on the season after defeating Speedway 73-70 Friday

The Tiger Cubs jumped out to a big lead after one quarter, leading the Sparkplugs 25-12. However, Speedway outscored GHS 32-28 in quarters two and three and outscored the Tiger Cubs 26-20 in the fourth. But the early lead was enough for the Tiger Cubs to hold on for a three-point win.

In addition to Hutcheson's offensive outburst, Hayden Stuckwisch added 12 points, with Brad Haussin and Jesse Tesmer adding seven each. Trevor Huber chipped in six point, with Nate Christy adding two and Michael Muncie one point in the win.

Muncie had six assists and Hutcheson had three blocks in the game.

Greencastle will be on the road tonight when it travels to West Vigo with the junior varsity tipping off at 6 p.m.
