Monday, January 9, 2012

Eugene "Gene" D Lindsey, 55, Coatesville, peacefully went to Our Lord Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at his home, surrounded by all his loved ones.

He was a true warrior against his long, 12-year battle with cancer, with a strong will and positive attitude. He amazed many by beating the odds against him many times.

He was born April 2, 1956 in Pasadena, Texas, to James and Lena (Wactor) Lindsey.

On Aug. 29, 1976 he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Connie Siddons-Lindsey, who survives.

Gene started working while still in high school and then several years after for Hendricks County Hospital. In 1987 he started working for Stonhard & Cornerstone Flooring, working up to supervisor and traveling and working in many states until 2000.

He worked for a brief time at Mill Creek East Schools in between his battles with cancer. He loved his jobs. He loved people. With every job he not only had co-workers, he gained a family.

He cherished his children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by them.

Along with his wife he is survived by his son, James "Nathan" and wife Cody Lindsey; his daughter, RaiAnn and husband Michael Stelzner; grandchildren, Brayden Kennedy, Alexis and Rylan Lindsey, Allison and Kari Stelzner, all of Coatesville; his mother, Lena Pearl Lindsey, brothers Troy (Beverly), Murl (Annie), Ronnie (Cheri), Ricky (Sandra) Lindsey, and his sister, Judy McClelland, all of Texas.

Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; father and mother-in-law Frank and Hazel Siddons; brother-in-law Clyde (Shirley) Siddons; very special friends Keith and Tina Harp and many more.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Lindsey, cousin Gene Evers, nephew Jimmy and sister-in-law Sandi Washburn.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 at Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville, with viewing from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9. Rev. Dan French will officiate.
