Girl Scout cookie booth with Soup-R-Bowl food drive

Reelsville Girl Scout Troops 2320, 10483 and 1733 will be hosting a Girl Scout cookie booth at Tractor Supply Co. in Greencastle from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 along with Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In celebration of the Super Bowl weekend, the Reelsville Girl Scout troops have decided to sponsor a Soup-R-Bowl food drive for the local food pantry.

To help make matters easier, there will be a drive-through cookie booth at the entrance of TSC in Putnam Plaza off Indianapolis Road from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The community can support the effort by dropping off a can of soup and picking up a box or two of their favorite Girl Scout Cookies without even getting out of the car.

Girl Scout cookies come in eight flavors, including a new variety, Savannah Smiles, a cool and crisp lemon wedge cookie, with lemon chips delivering tiny bursts of flavor.

Classic favorites will also be offered, including Do-Si-Dos, Dulce de Leche, Samoas, Tagalongs, Thank U Berry Munch, Thin Mints and Trefoils.

Customers who buy cookies from local Girl Scouts can be assured the proceeds will directly benefit Girl Scouts in their community. A portion of each package of cookies sold goes to troops to fund activities such as trips, camps, hands-on activities and community service projects.
