Winter Festival slated Friday at Deer Meadow

Monday, February 13, 2012

The Deer Meadow Primary School PTO will conduct its main fundraiser, the Winter Festival, 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at the school.

Games, food, bounce houses, face painting and balloon animals are all part of the activities scheduled for the Deer Meadow gymnasium.

All game tickets are 25 cents each (some games, however, require more than one ticket).

Marvin's will be delivering its famous GCBs. Dinner combinations include: A half GCB combo meal for $4, a whole GCB combo meal for $5 or a hot dog combo meal for $3. All combo meals will include a McDonald's cookie, chips and a drink.

The most popular event of the evening, the annual open raffle, will start at approximately 5:15 p.m.

Tickets for the raffle are currently being sold by Deer Meadow students, and may be purchased the night of the festival. You need not be present to win.

Many businesses, especially local firms, have donated prizes to the raffle, with many valued at more than $100.

All proceeds from the Winter Festival go back to enrich school activities. Due to last year's success, the Deer Meadow PTO was able to assist more students with field trip expenses and provide for convocations, while the PTO is currently saving to improve the school playground.
