The Putnam County Community Foundation has announced that the Putnam County Board of Realtors will award a scholarship to all four county school corporations again in 2012.

The success of the relators' annual bingo event has allowed the organization to increase its funding for scholarships, while still growing its endowment.

Since the inception of the Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship in 2007, it has awarded $4,000 in scholarships to area high school seniors.

Diane Ummel, executive officer of the Putnam County Board of Realtors, reports that because of that success, the local realtors plan to hold two bingo events this year.

The first is being planned for April 28 with the second to be staged Oct. 27 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

The Community Foundation is a nonprofit public charity established in 1985 to serve donors, award grants, and provide leadership, enriching the quality of life and strengthening community in Putnam County.

It administers 225 funds and endowments for donors supporting a variety of charities, including 61 scholarship programs.

Questions about scholarships may be directed to Marcus Whited, office manager, at 653-4978 or mwhited@pcfoundation.org.
