Dorothy Maxine (McLin) Boswell, 84, died Friday, March 9, 2012 at Brookhaven Manor in Kingsport, Tenn.

She was born Nov. 23, 1927 in Bicknell, Ind., the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Crabb) McLin.

She married Claude Boswell on May 25, 1945, and they were residents of Putnam County until the fall of 2005, when they moved to Kingsport, Tenn.

Dorothy was a faithful homemaker and later worked many years as a clinical dietitian and food service supervisor in Greencastle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers George, Henry, Earl and Gerald McLin; brother Roy Keith; sisters Myrtle York and Fay McCabe; and grandson Ian Boswell.

She is survived by her husband Claude; daughters Shirley Chadd and her husband Mike of Florala, Ala., and Connie Sillery and her husband Jerry of Kingsport; son Gary Boswell and his wife Marcia of Key Largo, Fla.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church of Kingsport, and was honored by her family at a private memorial service.
