County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Wednesday, March 28.

* At 6:32 p.m. Robert Jonathen Price II, 32, Terre Haute, was arrested for probation violation.

* At 9 p.m. Kenneth Troy Chadwell Jr., 24, Roachdale, was charged with theft.

Sheriff's Department

* On Wednesday, March 28 at 7:40 a.m. Brenda S. Simpson, 50, Rockville, was eastbound on U.S. 36, just east of County Road 725 East, in a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada when she hit a deer.

Damage $1,001-$2,500. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

* At 1:05 p.m. Louis W. Ridgeway III, 62, Greencastle, was westbound on U.S. 36 just west of County Road 600 West in a 2004 Cadillac SRX when he hit a deer.

Damage $1,001-$2,500.

City Police

Two traffic citations were issued recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 6:16 p.m. Wednesday, Randi Lady, 35, Greencastle, was cited on Shadowlawn Avenue by Officer Jeff Modlin for driving with a suspended license.

-- At 5:59 p.m. Wednesday, Wendy Westfall, 32, Lake Elsinore, Calif., was ticketed at Arlington Street and Shadowlawn Avenue by Officer Darrel Bunten for having an expired license plate.
