Inaugural Cultures Festival set April 14 at Bowman Park

For the first time ever, DePauw University student organizations are joining together to bring a Cultures Festival to DePauw's Bowman Park on Saturday, April 14.

Groups such as ISA (International Student Association), Wamidan, MECCA (Men of Excellence in Cross-Cultural Alliance), The ASIA Club (Association for Students Interested in Asia), CLC (Committee for Latino Concerns), United DePauw, DCC (DePauw China Connection) are joining together for the inaugural Cultures Festival.

The Bowman Park setting is located across Hanna Street from the Union Building (in case of rain, the site will be moved to the Union Building ballroom).

The free food event is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited to stop by and enjoy different foods from around the world while learning facts about the countries where the foods come from, and enjoying performances from the different cultures represented.

The purpose behind the event is to present an opportunity to learn about some of the other cultures that are represented in Greencastle and DePauw by celebrating them together.

Festival organizers welcome everyone to enjoy the free food and activities April 14.

  • Sounds great, just be sure to prepare enough food for everyone! One other note to the students: this is a lot of work, and you will be tired. In spite of that, remember to smile and have fun!
