Shirley Ann Call Grove

Shirley Ann Call Grove, 75, of Greencastle, passed away at Las Palmas Hospital in El Paso, 
Texas on April 15, 2012.

Shirley was born in Putnam County on Aug 13, 1936 to the late Rex O. and Mary Nutgrass Call. Shirley graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1954.

As a young mother she managed the cafeteria at the Morton Sale Barn and was employed as an operator with General Telephone Company. She owned and operated Jim & Shirley's Market in Morton for 10 years.

For more than 30 years she worked as a realtor and as an appraiser in and throughout central Indiana, owning her own real estate firm for several years.

After retirement she married Vernon Grove of Truth or Consequences, N.M. They alternated living between Greencastle and New Mexico. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

Shirley loved life and participated in the Senior Olympics. She enjoyed travel with trips throughout the United States and such places as Australia and Ukraine.

She is survived by her husband Vernon Grove; two sons, Brett Wagner of Greencastle; Dirk Wagner and wife Kathy of Mount Airy, N.C.; one daughter, Kim DiBernardo and husband Paul of Plainfield, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Schalles and husband Dennis of Lobelville, Tenn. and Robyn Inman of Canyon Lake, Texas; one sister, Jean Huffman and husband Marion of Bainbridge; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bob Call and Max Call and sister Sharon King.

A memorial for Shirley will be held at Union Chapel Church in Morton on Saturday, May 12 at 1 p.m. Pastor Murray Clugston will officiate the memorial service.
