Saturday benefit ride at Moose Lodge

Friday, May 11, 2012

The Greencastle Moose Lodge is hosting a poker motorcycle ride and a night to celebrate life on Saturday, May 12, with the first annual Patti Cope Benefit Ride.

They are raising money to support Patti Cope, a member who has been diagnosed with mastic melanoma.

Registration goes from 9-10:45 a.m. and the ride will begin at 11 a.m.

The fee is $15 for a single and $20 for couples, with proceeds going to the Cope family.

A meal is included for all riders.

Everyone is welcome, as non-riders are asked to pay $7.

There will be a 50/50 drawing, as well as a performance by the band Compass Rose, who take the stage at 8 p.m.

"We are leaning to our local community to support our cause in our small town," the coordinators said. "We know you probably receive many requests throughout the year, we are grateful for your time and consideration."

The goal is to raise $2,000 for the Cope family to assist in family, medical and hospital expenses.

There are expected to be 250 guests at the event.

The Moose Lodge is located 212 West Franklin Street in Greencastle.
