Thursday, May 31, 2012

On Wednesday, June 20, Dr. John Stephens of Dermatology Inc. will be conducting free skin cancer screens at Putnam County Hospital.

The screen is a bi-annual event that is sponsored by the Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center.

"Early detection is the key to treating melanoma," reminds Lou Fordice, LPN.

"We offer the free screen to encourage more people to take an interest in their health and to protect themselves from cancer," she continued.

The screen will be conducted by appointment only. To schedule a skin cancer screen, persons may contact the Cancer Center at 655-2581.

The screens will take place from 3-5 p.m. on Monday in the first-floor Outpatient Specialty Clinic at the hospital.
