County Jail

On Thursday, May 31 at 7:33 p.m. David Andrew Burger, 47, Coatesville, was booked in to the Putnam County Jail for violation of home detention.

City Police

One arrest was reported Thursday by Greencastle City Police.

Michael Hughes, 26, Greencastle, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. by Officer Darrel Bunten on a warrant for probation violation.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Hughes was arrested at Castlebury Apartments on the city's East Side.

One minor accident was investigated Thursday afternoon by city officers.

The mishap occurred at 1:48 p.m. on the Kroger store lot off Indianapolis Road.

Officer Ed Wilson reported that Alton Hawkins, 73, Fillmore, was backing a 2004 GMC pickup from a parking space and failed to see a 2006 Buick Lucerne, being driven by Charles Wood, 69, Greencastle.

Wood said he blew his horn when he saw the truck begin to back out but the collision occurred.

Total damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Two citations were issued recently to one local driver.

-- At 11:25 p.m. May 25, Damon Rivers, 36, Greencastle, was stopped on Judson Drive by Officer Nick Eastham. Rivers was cited for false or fictitious registration and for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.
