DePauw University names Bellani dean of experiential learning and career planning

Rajesh Bellani has been appointed to the new position of dean of experiential learning and career planning at DePauw University.

Bellani comes to DePauw from the Rhode Island Institute for Design (RISD), where he served as associate provost and dean of students and special assistant for international initiatives.

He will begin his work at DePauw next month.

Dean Bellani's role in the new position will focus on continuing the work of bringing together and strengthening the university's array of resources outside of the classroom that contribute to the overall DePauw educational program, including civic engagement, service learning, international and off-campus study, internships and career planning, preparation and placement.

At RISD, Bellani initiated a college-wide advising system providing holistic academic, personal and social support.

He previously served Colgate University in a variety of positions, including dean of the sophomore year experience and associate dean of academic initiatives in the Office of the Provost.

Bellani earned an M.S. in college student personnel from Western Illinois University, and received an Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
