F. Elizabeth Lairmore

F. Elizabeth (Secrest) Lairmore, 85, joined the Lord in peace with her family by her side, Wednesday, June 6, 2012.

She was born Feb. 25, 1927 in Eminence to Ralph and Gusta (Wallace) Secrest.

She was married Dec. 6, 1941 to John P. Lairmore.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, brother Freeman and sister Katherine Finchum.

She was a devoted member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church and worked in the Fillmore school system for 27 years.

She is survived by her two brothers, Bill Secrest (Janet) and Gordon Secrest (Joyce).

Elizabeth's legacy lives on through her six children, Jo Ann Wallan (Arnold), Judy Grimes (Danny), Jackie Buis (Bob), Jerri Bastian (Jim), John Lairmore (Cathy) and Julie Lanham (Kenny). She was a loving grandmother (17 children), great-grandmother (25 children), and great-great-grandmother to one.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 10 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Dr. Bryan Palmer-Smith and Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Fillmore Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
