Hauskatz, Clements play week 2 of ParkFest
The second week of the Greencastle Civic League's ParkFest summer music celebration is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Robe-Ann Park Bandshell.
Week two will feature JC Clements in the first time slot followed by the Hauskatz.
Clements left home at 17, hit Nashville at 18, and landed in Chicago at 21. She was welcomed into the legendary blues scene and got a gig as a side player for A. C. Reed. Clements spent over a year hosting the house jam at Buddy Guy's Legends.
She is equally at home in bluegrass and the blues scene, drawing on her background learning guitar from Lonnie Mack and his nephew in her rural hometown in Indiana.
Her original work draws heavily on her Kentucky heritage and inspiration from her blue collar town. She writes about hard-edged people who know how to have a good time.
Her big voice and soulfilled melodies rock audiences now throughout the Midwest.
Her music sounds like Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver, Colbie Caillat, John Mellencamp and Alison Krauss
The Haukatz are an eclectic group of local musicians playing jazz, rock, blues and more -- classics and standards with a twist and a wink.
The group features Carol Hamm on vocals, Bill Hamm on bass, Steve Michael on guitars, Veronica Pejril on keyboards and Rick Provine on drums.
