Fair Contestant -- Ali Torr

Ali Torr is an 18-year-old from Greencastle and a recent graduate of South Putnam High School. She is the daughter of Christy and Tony Cash and Mike Torr. She is a sister to Kenzie Cash, 9, Madison Cash, 18 and Caidon Cash, 8.

High school activities include Student Council, FCA, FFA and varsity cheerleading. She was also a member of 4-H.

She plans on attending Kansas State University in the fall and hopes to participate in student government.

Her future plans include graduating from KSU and landing a job in animal nutrition while operating a farm and having a happy family.

She decided to enter the contest because it is a great opportunity to be more involved in something she already loves as well as having to reach out of her comfort zone and experience a different aspect of the Putnam County 4-H Fair.

Torr would describe herself as optimistic. Through her years of hard work, with cheerleading and on the farm, she has become self-motivated, loyal and competitive.

To this day, she still practices what her Big Pa always said, "Take your tool box with you," meaning make eye contact, always smile and be kind to others.

Her hobbies include cheerleading, showing pigs and softball.

The best advice she'd give a younger person would be to be the best at whatever you do and to never say you can't.

The event that has impacted her the most and helps shape her into the person she is today is becoming a coach at Elite Cheer and Dance. It has taught her discipline and how to win and lose with grace. It gave her a chance to give back to the place that taught her so much and to be a role model to those following in her footsteps.

The person she admires most is Ms. Becky Brothers. She was and always will be a huge mentor to students, not just at South Putnam, but everyone who knows her.
