ParkFest presents teen night

Monday, July 30, 2012

The next edition of Greencastle ParkFest will feature music made by and for young people.

Teen night, sponsored by the Friends of the Park Association, is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 and features four teenage acts.

The lineup for the evening will feature performances from Jodi Buis and Nash Firebaugh, Katie Krauter, Carly Rhine and Translucent Vertigo.

Nash Firebaugh and Jodi Buis have been performing together for about a year. They have performed at the 2011 and 2012 Putnam County Fair, and the 2012 Greencastle High School talent show.

Nash has been playing guitar for three years. Jodi has been performing around Putnam County and surrounding county since she was 10.

Nash and Jodi have also been dating for 2 1/2 years and will be juniors this year at Greencastle High School.

Katie Krauter is an acoustic/alternative performer from Indianapolis.

Carly Rhine has been playing guitar for five years.

"Music has been a part of my life since I was born and it's one of the things that keeps me going," Rhine said. "It's something that will always make me happy and I know I can always count on it. Bob Marley once said, 'One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.'"

Translucent Vertigo is centered in Greencastle as an alternative rock group featuring electrifying guitar sound, funky bass lines, intense drum beats and bluesy vocals.

They formed in June of 2011 and have been going strong ever since, recording their first EP in December 2011 and releasing it in April 2012.

Band members are Jake Girton on guitar and vocals, Lucas Eckrich on bass and vocals, guitarist Trent Workman, Chauncey Baker on vocals and drummer Taulbee Jackson.

They love playing music and sharing it with their fans and potential new fans.

As always, ParkFest will take place at the Robe-Ann Park Bandshell. The show is free to anyone who wants to enjoy an evening of music in the park.
