United Way of Putnam County announces kickoff breakfast, Day of Service

The United Way of Putnam County will hold its annual kickoff breakfast on Friday, Aug. 24 kicking off not only the campaign, but also its Day of Service which will take place both Aug. 24 and 25.

The Day of Service is a two-day event where the United Way utilizes volunteers to work on philanthropic projects throughout the county.

The projects can be any kind of service project or need ranging from simple clean-up to yard work, or even painting projects. Any community member can suggest a project or area need.

All ages, including youth and adults, are welcome to participate as volunteers in this event.

The breakfast is scheduled for 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 24 at the Inn at DePauw, and will include a half-hour program regarding the Day of Service.

Persons may contact the United Way of Putnam County at 653-5638 with questions regarding these events or to RSVP for the breakfast.

The United Way mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good.
