Special starting time Sunday for Brazil Band concert

BRAZIL -- The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will offer "Americana" Sunday, Aug. 12, beginning at the special time of 7 p.m. at Forest Park in Brazil.

The free concert is scheduled, rain or shine.

This week's theme features folk tunes and music with a down-home flair.

Even the marches will reflect such vibes with "The Walking Frog" by King, "An Arkansas Huskin' Bee" by Pryor, "The Pumpkin Center Cornet Band" by Jewell and "Dixie" by Emmett-Dragon.

First trombonist Dr. Duane Caperton, a long-time BCB member, will start the show at 7 p.m. with his ensemble, "Yellow Hammer Blue Grass Gospel."

These pickin' musicians include Rick Duzan, mandolin, Dick Harrington, guitar, Bob Bennett, bass, Doug Duzan and Duane Caperton, banjos.

The entire Brazil Concert Band will present "Way Down Yonder In New Orleans" by Nowak, "American Folk Rhapsody No. 3" and "Kentucky 1800" both by Grundman, "Amazing Grace" and "Shenandoah" both by Ticheli, "All Shook Up" by Ricketts and "Songs of Old Kentucky" by Karrick.
