County Jail

Four people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday, Aug. 14.

* At 12:05 a.m. Adam Carl Hale, 18, Bainbridge, was arrested on three counts of intimidation.

* At 2:25 p.m. James Levi Ellis, 22, Coatesville, was charged with failure to appear.

* At 3:17 p.m. Lester Keith Hardcastle, 45, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for contempt of court.

* At 4:36 p.m. James Flatt, 27, Martinsville, was booked in for burglary.

City Police

Four recent traffic accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police.

-- At 2:49 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle accident was reported at North College Avenue and Moore Court.

Elaine Huber, 70, Greencastle, was southbound on College Avenue, driving a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country van, when it was struck in the passenger side by a 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Brooke Thurston, 17, Greencastle.

Thurston told Officers Jeff Modlin and Albert Epple that she pulled out of Moore Court after a school bus passed and failed to see the Huber vehicle.

Total damage was listed at $2,500-$5,000.

-- At 7:01 p.m. Sunday, a two-vehicle mishap was reported on Locust Street at Anderson Street as Robert Long, 32, Champaign, Ill., did not realize Anderson Street was closed for construction and stopped the 2012 Dodge Durango he was driving in the roadway and began to back up.

The Durango, owned by Enterprise Rental, Indianapolis, struck a 1998 Buick LeSabre, driven by Joshua Gaston, 25, Elkton, Md., who had stopped in the street behind Long.

Officer Ed Wilson estimated total damage at $2,500-$5,000.

Long was ticketed for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

-- At 7:12 p.m. Saturday, a two-vehicle accident was reported at Indianapolis Road and Longcastle Drive.

Davinde Singh, 36, Indianapolis, was pulling out of the Hoosier Pete Marathon gas station on the north side of Indianapolis Road in a 1997 Ford Econoline van. Meanwhile, Montaey Allen, 33, Greencastle, was turning left out of Pizza Hut on the south side of the road in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix.

The vehicles collided in the center lane of Indianapolis Road, Officer Modlin reported, resulting in $1,000-$2,500 total damage.

-- At 5:37 p.m. Aug. 10, a three-car accident occurred on Indianapolis Road at Fawnview Drive.

Stephanie Skinner, 57, Greencastle, told Officer Darrel Bunten she was unaware that traffic in front of her had stopped and could not stop her 2005 Buick LeSabre in time to avoid running into a stopped 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by Jason Dagley, 39, Greencastle.

The collision pushed the Dagley car into a 2009 Scion, driven by Amy Cofer, 31, Greencastle.

Total damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

Dagley was cited for driving with a suspended license, no insurance and false or fictitious registration.

City officers issued three additional traffic citations recently.

-- At 3:19 a.m. Saturday, Latosha Belcher, 22, Plainfield, was ticketed by Officer Eric Vaughan on Shadowlawn Avenue for having an expired license plate (Feb. 21).

-- At 10:15 p.m. Aug. 9, Coleman Lanham, 23, Reelsville, was cited by Capt. Charles Inman for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense and for having an expired license plate (July 7).
