Vicki L. Small

Vicki L. Small, age 65, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born April 2, 1947 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Lowell and Mary L. (Hanner) Morgan.

She was a 1965 graduate of Plainfield High School. She received her B.S. Degree in education from Ball State University in 1969 and her Master's in education from Indiana University in 1974.

She married Alan Small on June 14, 1969, and he survives.

Vicki was the director and a teacher at The Learning Castle Preschool at the First Christian Church, Greencastle, since 1983.

She had previously taught first grade at Decatur County Community Schools and second grade for the Bartholomew County Community Schools.

She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Greencastle, where she served as an elder and had also chaired many committees.

Survivors include her husband, Alan; a daughter, Amy Howard and husband Jeremy of Greencastle; a son, Jeffrey Small and wife Beth of Indianapolis; a stepbrother, Dean Beck of Plainfield; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 110 S. Indiana St. Greencastle, with Rev. Dr. Paul Champion officiating.

An inurnment will be announced at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle.
