City Police

One arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Timothy James Smith, 35, Greencastle, was arrested for public intoxication by Capt. Charles Inman after he reportedly found passed out in the wooded area behind the Speedway gas station at Round Barn and Indianapolis roads.

Smith, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, registered a .22 percent blood-alcohol level under portable breathalyzer testing.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department went on several runs recently.

* On Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 9:23 a.m. crews were sent to 414 S. Indiana for an alarm set off by cooking. They returned at 9:34 a.m.

* On Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 3:49 a.m. workers were dispatched to Airport Road for an auto accident, but were disregarded in route at 3:58 a.m.

At 2:24 p.m. fire workers were disregarded en route to 300 S. Warren Drive. They returned at 2:31 p.m.

At 7:15 p.m. crews were sent 106 S. Spring for an alarm set off by steam. They were in service at 7:25 p.m.

* On Friday, Sept. 7 at 8:27 a.m. workers were dispatched to 750 S. Fillmore Rd. for a medical assist. They returned at 8:39 a.m.

At 9:10 a.m. fire workers went to 208 Olive St. for an alarm set off by hairspray. They were in station at 9:20 a.m.
