Beekeeping at McCloud

Saturday, September 8, 2012

McCloud Nature Park is hosting a program about bees on Saturday, Sept. 15. The buzzing event will begin at 1 p.m. in the Nature Center and will be free and for all ages.

Attendees will be able to see a real working hive in action and talk to a local beekeeper and kids can make a bee craft to take home.

The program will last approximately two hours and will provide information about the life cycle and habits of these fascinating insects, and what is involved in being a beekeeper and harvesting honey.

Local honey will also be available to purchase.

Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily.
