Horizons of Putnam County fall classes to begin soon

Monday, September 10, 2012

Horizons of Putnam County's fall lineup of community education classes taught by community members begins the week of Sept. 30 and runs the gamut from chocolate to couponing.

Founded as a non-profit in 1996 to offer "an adventure in lifelong education," Horizons offers a variety of classes twice a year taught in non-traditional formats. Instructors are from all areas of the county and each brings his or her unique knowledge, perspective and enthusiasm to their students.

Courses are offered each fall and spring and vary in length from one-day sessions to a more typical one-session-per-week format. Locations for the classes are selected by the instructors.

There are 11 Horizons options this fall:

"Watercolor Note Cards" with Jessie Scott at the Putnam County Public Library.

"Learning to Spin on a Drop Spindle" with Heidi Warren at Studio B.

"Native American Spiritualities -- Through a Christian Lens" with Dr. P.T. Wilson at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church.
