Eagle runners place second at Northview Invite

BRAZIL -- The South Putnam cross country teams traveled to Brazil for the Northview Invite, with both squads earning a second place finish.

The girls' team placed second with a score of 48, with the boys' placing second with a tally of 59. Both teams finished six points behind first place Northview.

Madie Egold led the girls' squad with a fifth place finish with a time of 23:08. Julianna DeLano also finished in the top 10 with a time of 24:07, good enough for ninth place.

Mallory Glaze was 13th with a time of 24:28, with Jessica Jones placing 14th in a time of 24:31. Michaela Scales ran a time of 24:46 to finish in 15th place, with Ariel Higgins placed 16th with a time of 24:53. Katelyn Lady finished 18th with a time of 25:14.

Angel Nield finished 19th on the night with a time of 25:18 and Hannah Jones was 21st with a time of 25:48. Alex Lesko rounded out the Eagle runners with a time of 32:15.

In the boys' race, Hunter Barr placed third overall with a time of 17:34, with teammate Berndt Freeman following in fourth place with a time of 18:07.

Matt Lund finished 14th with a time of 19:17, with Lane Franklin finishing 19th in a time of 19:34. Matt Allen placed 21st on the night in a time of 19:48, while Tyler Nield finished 20:05.

Colten Bunten ended the night in 34th place with a time of 20:46, with Cody Evens placing 36th in a time of 20:50. Jake Schroer was 43rd overall in a time of 21:16 and Chase Albers was 66th in a time of 28:28.
