City Police

A 20-year-old Bainbridge woman was cited for leaving the scene of a property-damage accident on the parking lot of the Greencastle Wendy's, Greencastle City Police reported.

City officers said Joanna Hood was driving a 1993 Geo Prism that struck a parked 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, owned by Frances Washburne, 81, Fillmore, on the Wendy's lot off Indianapolis Road.

Witnesses observed the Hood car strike the parked vehicle in the right rear and then drive up over the curb and leave the scene at 12:32 p.m. Saturday.

Capt. Mike Hanlon estimated damage to the Washburne car at $3,500-$4,000, while damage to the Hood vehicle was listed at $500-$750.

Another two-car accident occurring on a parking lot off Indianapolis Road was reported at 6 p.m. Sept. 21 at Putnam Plaza.

Emma Powers, 16, Greencastle, was reportedly northbound through the lot, driving a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix on the west side of the fenced TSC area, while James Marcum, 26, Greencastle, was driving westbound on the north side of the same fenced area.

The view of both drivers was obstructed by the fenced area, Sgt. Chris Jones reported.

The wet pavement was also partially to blame for the mishap, which resulted in an estimated $1,000-$2,500 damage.

Two recent traffic citations were issued by GPD officers:

-- At 2:43 a.m. Tuesday, Brandon Titara, 21, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham for 54 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

-- At 12:15 a.m. Sept. 22, Heather Gilleland, 29, Carbon, was cited by Officer Eric Vaughan for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.
