Weather delays I-70 closure at SR 39 ramps

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced the closure of Interstate 70 ramps at State Road 39 (Exit 59) will be delayed due to weather.

The work will begin tonight and continue until the Friday morning.

The exact closure schedule is as follows:

-- From 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 through 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 for westbound exit ramp to State Road 39.

-- From 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 through 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5 for State Road 39 ramp to westbound I-70.

The new schedule is, again, weather dependent.

The project was awarded to Rieth-Riley for $7.7 million. The project will have 11-foot lane restrictions on the interstate in the area the contractor will be working.

The project is scheduled for completion by Nov. 15.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
