County Jail

On Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 12:15 a.m. Paul Andrew Brown, 45, no city listed, was booked into the Putnam County Jail for operating while intoxicated.

Sheriff's Department

On Thursday, Oct. 4 at 12:21 p.m. Jack W. Baker, 47, Fishers, was southbound, rounding a curve on County Road 445 West in a 2011 Kenworth semi. David L. Torrence, 52, Greencastle, was northbound, approaching the curve in a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche.

As the semi was rounding the curve, its tanker trailer crossed left of center, hitting Torrence's truck.

Torrence was treated by Operation Life for head pain.

Damages were estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department went on several runs recently.

* On Thursday, Oct. 4 at 10:17 p.m. crews went to 65 Woodhaven Drive for a medical assist. They returned to the station at 10:37 p.m.

* On Friday, Oct. 5 at 10:34 a.m. fire departments officials went to 106 S. Spring St. for a fire alarm. They were back in service at 10:45 a.m.

At 7:42 p.m. they went to 507 S. Locust St. for an alarm and returned at 7:52 p.m.

* On Saturday, Oct. 6 at 4:18 a.m. firefighters went to 1236 W. CR 200 South to investigate an electrical outlet that had a short circuit. They were in service at 4:45 a.m.

At 5:43 p.m. they again went to 106 S. Spring St. for an alarm, this time returning at 5:50 p.m.

At 5:50 p.m. crews were sent to 505 S. Jackson St. for a fire alarm, returning at 5:54 p.m.

At 6:54 p.m. firefighters were dispatched to 315 Dogwood Lane for a smoke investigation. They were in service at 7:02 p.m.

At 7:11 p.m. crews went to 250 E. CR 350 South for a motor vehicle accident. They returned to the station at 8:01 p.m.

* On Sunday, Oct. 7 at 5:58 p.m. they were sent to 1038 Castlebury for a medical assist. They were back at 6:19 p.m.
