James B. Sedberry

James B. Sedberry, age 83, of Greencastle, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at Putnam County Hospital.

Born July 30, 1929 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Sidney Washington and Edith (Scott) Sedberry. He was a 1948 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School.

He married Joan L. (Leppert) on Sept. 27, 1953 and they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

James retired from AT &T where he had worked as a comptroller supervisor.

He was a ham radio operator, operating under the call sign of AA9FY.

He had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughters Diane (John) Matthews of Knobnoster, Mo., and Vickie (Steve) Clarkson of Russellville; four grandchildren, Julie Petersen, Katie Bond, Steven J. Clarkson and Debra Jo Clarkson; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Sidney, Wayne and Irwin Sedberry.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Doug Cheatham officiating and burial to follow.
