ROCKVILLE -- The annual Parke County Covered Bridge Festival begins its 10-day run Friday and continues through Sunday, Oct. 21 with activities across Parke County in celebration of its cherished 31 covered bridges.

Headquartered since 1957 on the courthouse square in Rockville, the annual Covered Bridge Festival features food, crafts, sale items, demonstrations and entertainment.

Most booths are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free entertainment is scheduled each day on the south side of the courthouse.

Bus tours will leave at scheduled times daily from the Rockville courthouse square, offering visitors an opportunity to view covered bridges and make stops along the way.

Other Parke County communities likewise will be in on the action.

Mansfield offers shopping and tours of its historic roller mill and the Mansfield Bridge.

Bridgeton, meanwhile, offers vendors and crafters as well as a mill and the Bridgeton Bridge.

The towns of Montezuma, Rosedale and Tangier will also offer events and food choices and places to shop during the 10-day festival.
