State Road 39 westbound I-70 ramps to close for resurfacing

BELLEVILLE -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced that the resurfacing project on Interstate 70 will close the westbound ramps at State Road 39 (Exit 59), beginning Friday evening, to mill and resurface the ramps.

Crews plan the following schedule for ramp closures:

-- Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, the westbound I-70 ramp to State Road 39 will be closed until 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

-- Beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, , the State Road 39 ramp to westbound I-70 ramp will be closed until 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15.

The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.

The overall resurfacing project was awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction, Indianapolis, for $7.7 million.

The project will have 11-foot lane restrictions on the interstate in the area where the contractor will be working.

The I-70 project is scheduled for completion by Nov. 15.
