McCloud Nature Park to host 'unspookified' Halloween event

Friday, October 19, 2012

McCloud Nature Center will be having an "unspookified" Halloween event on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event is designed to be less spooky and friendlier. People from the nature center will be debunking myths about all Halloween creatures such as owls, spiders, bats and more.

Children can participate in crafts and enjoy festive snacks and treats. Attendants can also wear their costumes and tour the Bat Prairie Maze.

McCloud Nature Park is operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation and is located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 North Hughes Road.

Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily. The Nature Center's hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
