City Police

A 26-year-old Greencastle man is being cited for possession of marijuana under 30 grams and possession of paraphernalia following a Monday night incident, Greencastle City Police report.

At 10:47 p.m. Monday, Capt. Chris Jones was called to 119 S. Jackson St., Apt. 1, on the report of a verbal domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, Capt Jones found Harlan R. Flake reportedly in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Five recent accidents were investigated by city officers.

-- At 3:19 p.m. Monday, a two-vehicle mishap was reported on the parking lot at Kroger, 821 Indianapolis Rd.

Capt. Mike Hanlon reported that Arlene Bridges, 67, Greencastle, turned down a lane of parked vehicles in a 1996 Ford Ranger just as Kenna Spears, 33, Cloverdale, began backing a 2005 Dodge Neon from a parking spot.

The collision resulted in an estimated $1,000-$2,500 damage.

--At 8:57 p.m. Saturday, the intersection of Indiana and Seminary streets was the scene of a two-car accident.

A 1998 Eagle Talon, driven by Ethan Perdue, 18, Greencastle, and a 2010 Lexus, driven by Caroline Pietrzak, 21, Burr Ridge, Ill., collided in the intersection, police said.

The drivers gave conflicting reports, Officer Matt Huffman noted, on whether or not Pietrzak had stopped at the stopsign before entering the intersection. However, no citations were issued.

Total damage was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

-- At 7:10 p.m. Oct. 26, the Walmart superstore parking lot on Indianapolis Road was the scene of a minor mishap as Patrick Labhart, 28, Greencastle, was attempting to park a 1999 Ford F-150 truck.

As Labhart turned into a parking space, his brakes failed, Capt. Charles Inman reported, and his truck ran into a parked, unattended 1998 Ford Ranger, owned by Clay Vogt, Greencastle.

Total damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

-- At 3:10 p.m. Oct. 26, a two-vehicle accident occurred at Jackson and Walnut streets.

Christopher Wells, 46, Greencastle, was reportedly westbound on Walnut Street and attempted to cross South Jackson in a 2007 Honda Accord when he pulled into the path of a northbound 1994 Toyota pickup, driven by Kevin Sanders, 23, Greencastle.

Officer Albert Epple, who was assisted at the scene by Officer Jeff Modlin, listed total damage at $1,000-$2,500.

-- At 12:15 p.m. Oct. 25, two vehicles were involved in a mishap at Wood and Washington streets.

Northbound at the time were both a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Ruby Lee, 46, Greencastle, and a 2000 Ford F-150, driven by Angela White, 45, Greencastle.

Capt. Hanlon reported that a vehicle in front of Lee started into the intersection but stopped, causing Lee to stop suddenly as well. White, however, did not realize the cars were stopping and her truck struck the rear of the Lee car.

Total damage was listed at $1,000-$2,500.
