McCloud hosts whitetail program

The McCloud Nature Center will be having a seminar on whitetail deer on Saturday, Nov. 10. A park naturalist will be at the center at 2 p.m.

The programs will highlight the whitetail's life cycle and its interesting comeback story. There will also be a tour with the naturalist that will try to decipher the messages left by this season's tree scrapes and rubs.

The program and is free and designed for all ages and will last for about 90 minutes. Please wear sturdy shoes for the hike and dress for the weather.

McCloud Nature Park is operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation and is located five miles south of North Salem at 8518 North Hughes Road.

Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily. The Nature Center's hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
