Museum sets holiday hours

Thursday, November 15, 2012

With so many family members coming to visit this time of year, the Putnam County Museum can be a great place to come and enjoy history during the holidays.

Museum hours are 1-4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday or by appointment.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the museum will be closed starting Thursday, Nov. 22 and will reopen for normal hours of operation on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

However, anyone who would like to visit the museum during the holiday weekend may call to schedule a personal tour by appointment.

The museum is currently featuring DePauw University's 175 years, airport and aviation history, World War I propaganda posters, Prevo's Department Store, IBM Corp., Green Acres and more.

The Muse gift shop, meanwhile, features items from local artists for sale.

The museum is located in the old Kroger shopping center at 1105 N. Jackson St. in Greencastle.

For more information on the museum or its events, persons may contact Tanis Monday at 653-8419 or tanis@putnamcountymuseum.org.
